A little bit about Boxmoor Bridal Boutique...
I've always been passionate about providing the best service possible to customers. I think my John Lewis management background is more than just a learned vocation - it's just ingrained in me!
I wanted to venture into something that was more than just a quick transaction, which is why I chose bridalwear. I love meeting new brides, getting to know about them and their big day. It's a really personal service that you just don't get on the high street. Not only does it create a much nicer all-round experience, but also helps us figure out exactly what your perfect dress looks like.
We opened our doors in January 2013 after months of decorating, choosing wedding dresses and really getting to know our stuff (yes, it was hard work but lots of fun too!). We like to provide a fantastic service to our brides (they seem to agree - see some quotes here), which all starts with a glass of something lovely and a consultation. Then we get dress-trying...the exciting bit!
We're here whenever you need us. If you need a bit of advice about anything wedding-related we do whatever we can to help. If you're having a bit of a wobble about anything, don't panic, just come and see us! We understand how stressful everything can get so we'll do our best to go above and beyond to make it easier for you.
So whenever you're ready, we're looking forward to meeting you!
Owner of Boxmoor Bridal Boutique
Meet our team...
Anna - Owner
Likes: Chocolate, shopping, holidays, Marmite, the JL Christmas advert
Dislikes: Cucumber and bad drivers! Imagine someone driving badly because they were eating cucumber?! Worst nightmare.
Did you know?: Anna appeared in the background of a Baywatch episode when she was 9!
Anna's top tip for brides: Before you start nitpicking the details of a wedding dress, first figure out the shape that works best for you. Try not to get caught up in the trend of the moment, but instead focus on your personal style and what flatters you most.
Katie - Bridalwear Consultant
(you'll find Katie in the Boutique every Saturday)
Likes: Sushi, biscuits, cocktails and the gym
Dislikes: Cheese, snow, coffee, The Simpsons
Did you know?: Our Katie is currently studying to be a wedding planner- lucky future brides!
Katie's top tip for brides: Don't eliminate anything at first glance. If the bridal consultant brings you something she says you should try, try it—even if you don't initially love it or think it's totally 'you'. It's possible to fall for a wedding gown you didn't think you'd like or want. We call them our wild cards! Not every dress looks great on a hanger, so it's much better to keep an open mind.
Sam - Bridalwear Consultant
(you'll find Sam in the Boutique every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday)
Likes: Horse riding, green tea, chicken, her dogs (Molly and Penny)
Dislikes: Fish, coffee, food shopping, bad customer service
Did you know?: 'Super Sam' has done a charity sky dive - what a hero!
Sam's top tip for brides: Don't be afraid of committing to a dress. Brides often think they may find something better elsewhere, but if you love a dress why not say yes? You've already made the biggest decision of saying yes to the person you're marrying - saying yes to the dress is the easy part ;-)
Kelly - Bridalwear Consultant
(you'll find Kelly in the Boutique every Thursday and Friday)
Likes: Chocolate, Prosecco, holidays, family time, Christmas
Dislikes: Mushrooms, olives, rain (on account of the frizz factor), rude people - just be nice!
Did you know?: Kelly bought the first wedding dress she tried on (you'd be surprised how many brides do this!) and she married her first ever boyfriend. Ahh!
Kelly's top tip for brides: Don't try and talk yourself into liking a dress. If you don't love it just whip it off and try the next one!
Helen - Accessories Designer
Likes: Chocolate (there seems to be a common theme here!), holidays (mainly India), dogs (Helen has a lovely Golden Retriever called Louis), making pretty things
Dislikes: Eggs, mashed potato, birds
Did you know?: Helen went to university with Jonathan Ross, and has nearly been run over by Goldie three times (he seems to have it in for her!)
Helen's top tip for brides: Don't be afraid to explore different options for your bridesmaids. It's highly unlikely that they'll all be the same shape and size, so why not try various styles in the same colour and material, or even the same dress in different shades of your chosen colour.
